Nixa Area Arts Council is having their 1st Annual Community Arts Fest this coming Labor Day weekend.
A Call For Artists is extended to all the area artist. Here’s the pertinent info. Sounds like a fun event!

Nixa Area Arts Council is seeking artists to exhibit and sell their work. Also, we are looking for plein air artist to set
up throughout the grounds and paint a picture of the community center and/or the events going on (there will be lots
of dogs, kids and entertainment to paint also). The paintings will be judged by a local celebrity and the Arts Council. There will be a prize for 1st place winner, and possibly 2nd & 3rd. We would like to display the paintings in the Center for a period of time afterwards. Entry fee for both is only $10.00 each and this fee goes to the Nixa Arts Council to raise awareness of the arts in Nixa. The set up for the exhibiting artist's would be inside the beautiful Nixa Community Center and would allow the artist to obtain a lot of exposure. We are expecting a very large crowd and the media. The events that are scheduled are : kick off with a 5K fun run, live bands and entertainment are lined up every hour, free hot dogs
& hamburgers, and several other area restraunts are participating. We will also be raising funds for the no kill humane shelter and will be offering doggie foot prints for a donation. At the end of the day there will be an official closing of the pool that ends with the doggie dive. The last band to end the festivities will be Springfield's own Lost Highway!
This event is expected to be Nixa's largest and most exciting event ever and we hope that lots of artist will be
interested in become apart of this big event. Our goal is to promote the Arts In Nixa!!!
