This summer will bring a diverse range of family art programs at the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, 222 W. Third St., in Joplin.
Activities will range from working with clay to watercolors and photography, and will be offered for both children and adults.
“These classes are not just for kids who have exhibited huge artistic talent,” said Jo Mueller, director of Spiva. “They’re for kids who are curious and like to try new things and being able to create something. “It’s more about the process than the end result.”
Mueller said that the varied selection of classes will offer something for everyone in the family.
“What you’re going to see are activities for a wide range of ages,” she said. “We’re doing more things for adults than we ever have in the past.”
For more information on dates, times and fees for the summer activities, call (417) 623-0183. Or visit www.spivaarts.org and click on "Education" to see the latest information on classes.
