Two Fashion Events planned in April at Spiva Center for the Arts
From Spiva reports
3/24/06
Fine art and creative fashion come together for two events in April at Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin.
Upstairs Boutique, Newton’s Jewelers, and artists featured in Spiva’s current Shape Shifters exhibit will be displaying high styles, wild styles, and eye-popping styles at Girls’ Night Out on Thursday evening, April 13, from 6–8pm, and at the High Tea & Fashion event on Friday afternoon, April 14, 2–4pm.
Each fashion show will feature food, fashion, door prizes, and a short, interactive seminar “How to Dress for Your Body Type and Fashion Personality!” presented by Deb Allison of Upstairs Boutique. According to Ms. Allison, the events will be “all about fashion and fun. Ladies, do bring your lipsticks!”
Attendees may also purchase a $10 chance at Spiva to win an original, hand-woven Margaret Roach Wheeler shawl, custom-made according to the winner’s color choices! The drawing will take place on Friday, April 14, at 4pm, and the winner need not be present to win.
Admission to Girls’ Night Out and High Tea & Fashion is $10 per person for either event. Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are available at Upstairs Boutique (502 South Main), Newton’s Jewelers (5th & Main Street), and Spiva Center for the Arts (Third & Wall) in Joplin. Advance purchase is required by 5pm, Tuesday, April 11. For more information, contact Spiva Center for the Arts at 417.623.0183, visit www.spivaarts.org, or e-mail deb@upstairsboutique.com
