And from our friends at the Post Memorial Library:
Free Lecture: "Symbolism in the Art of Leonardo Da Vinci"
at the Joplin Public Library, 300 Main Street.
All are invited to attend a lecture program featuring Val Christensen, Associate Professor of Art at Missouri Southern State University, who teaches art history and art appreciation. He will present an illustrated lecture focusing on Leonardo's first period of residency in Milan during which time he painted "The Last Supper." For those who have read the book or seen the movie, “The Da Vinci Code,” or for those who are interested in art symbolism, Christensen’s presentation will clarify Leonardo's use of imagery. Following the lecture, the Post Library will host a party in its reading room to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
