Saturday morning (March 31),10 a.m. – noon, join Becky Golubski for Color that Canine! for kids ages 8 and up, teens, and adults. (Becky’s pet portraits are featured in Spiva’s Regional Gallery thru April 15.) The well trained and well behaved Delta Society Therapy Dogs are the “live” four-legged models for this fun drawing class that you won’t find anywhere else in Joplin (maybe even Missouri!). The cost is only $18 and includes materials. And Spiva members get a 10% discount on the class as well!

Then in the afternoon, from 1-3 p.m., Wendy Milliman is offering Outrageous Eggs! just for kids, ages 8 and up. What can you do with an egg besides dye it? Anything when you are working with over-sized papier maché eggs! Embellish your creation with paint, pebbles, leaves, lace, beads, baubles, buttons, feathers… whatever tickles your fancy. Add wings, beaks, feet...let your imagination run wild. Bring your own found objects/favorite things to work with, too! The cost is only $15 and includes materials. And Spiva members get a 10% discount on the class as well!

Please call Spiva 417.623.0183 to register and ensure a place for you in the class!

On Sunday, April 1 (no fooling!), beginning at 2 p.m., Spiva’s Art in the Afternoon series presents a slide talk by photographer Michael Peven, the creator of Good Dog/Bon Chien, Spiva’s current Main Gallery exhibit. Michael will share his 30 year evolution of creative interests—from his early days as a budding architect to his recent photographic installation projects such as Good Dog. Please join us for a wonderful, informative afternoon with this artist, University of Arkansas Professor, and dog owner. The event is FREE (Contributions will gladly be accepted.)

Please call Spiva (417.623.0183) so we can save a seat for you!

And if you haven't yet seen the doggone great exhibits at Spiva—Good Dog/Bon Chien in the Main Gallery; Best in Show in the Regional Gallery—why not drop by Spiva this weekend? Open Saturday 10a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Sneak a peak in the Gift Shop, too! There are plenty of BOW-WOW good items on the shelves!
