Missouri Arts Council “Listening Tour” to be held at Spiva Center
Spiva Center for the Arts is hosting the Missouri Arts Council (MAC) “Listening Tour” Tuesday evening, April 17. The free event will be held from 5:30-7:00 p.m., preceded with a “meet & greet” session beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The purpose of the statewide “Listening Tour” is to present for public review the draft proposal of the Council’s goals and objectives to establish Missouri as an arts leader. Previously, MAC held several town hall meetings to obtain public input on its strategic planning process. The information gathered during the “Listening Tour” will determine MAC’s programs and services for the next three years.

Artists, community leaders, and the general public are welcome to attend and share ideas, knowledge, and opinions to ensure the direction of the Arts Council’s efforts. Additional “Listening Tour” stops will take place in Columbia, Springfield, Kirksville, St. Joseph, St. Louis, and Kansas City. Please contact the Missouri Arts Council for specific times and locations.

Local Missouri Arts Council member Ms. Sharon Beshore, Joplin, will host the Spiva event and also will serve as facilitator.
