Art is on tap at Spiva Center for the Arts
From Spiva reports
2/7/08
Spiva Center for the Arts will present "Art on Tap" on Thursday, March 13 from 5:30–8:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Boulevard Brewing Company, a specialty brewery located in Kansas City, the 21-and-over event is specially designed for a rising generation of art admirers.
The concept for "Art on Tap" came from Spiva board member Toby Teeter. "This is a great opportunity for young people who are interested in supporting the arts to enjoy an evening of conversation, art, and music in a hip, urban environment," he said. "This is basically a membership drive and a party rolled into one event."
The first "Art on Tap" event will showcase three exhibits—High Flying Fabrications, Birds of a Feather, and Flight—in Spiva's downtown galleries. Participants will be treated to appetizers and beverages. Entertainment will be announced.
Spiva members age 21 and older are invited to attend, and are asked to reserve tickets by March 11. Memberships may be purchased in person at the Center, or by calling 417.623.0183. One-year individual memberships are $35. Dual/family memberships are $50.
Spiva Center for the Arts is located at 222 West Third Street at Wall in Joplin. Gallery and Gift Shop hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–5pm, and Sunday, 1–5pm. The Center is closed Mondays.
