16. Bob Cummings Motor Hotel (Demolished)

Clarence Robert Orville Cummings was born in Joplin in 1910. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1927. He was best known for his television series “The Bob Cummings Show.” Cummings won an Emmy in 1954 for his performance in “Twelve Angry Men.” He appeared in over 60 motion pictures. In the 1960s, he opened the Bob Cummings Motor Hotel on south Range Line.
