38. Fox Theatre

(1930))
(415 Main)

It took seven months, a workforce of 300 men, and $500,000 for Chicago artist and architect Larry Larson to build the Spanish Moorish style theatre. The ornate interior featured 1,500 brocaded velour seats, a sixty-five foot wide stage, and statues on pedestals in niches. The Fox Theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is now the home of Central Christian Center.
