50. The Liberty Building
(1923) (Southwest corner of Fourth & Main)

The eight-story, 147-room structure, which cost $650,000, was named “Liberty Building” because war bond rallies had been held on the vacant lot during World War I. In October, 1924, the name was changed to Joplin National Bank Building.
