(1925; house demolished)
(2008 Sergeant)

In 1923 John and Florence Freeman donated their home for use as a hospital in memory of their son, Orley. Freeman Hospital was dedicated on May 27, 1925 after a new $225,000 four-story structure was added to the former Freeman residence. At the dedication ceremony, 10,000 area residents viewed the hospital. The original hospital contained 50 patient rooms, 75 beds and a staff of 19 nurses and five physicians.
