Sally Armstrong , Director

From the director

I am so excited to enter into my third year at the helm of artCentral! As we begin our 23rd year there is much to be proud of and yet much to accomplish. In 2007, you, our faithful members, increased in large numbers as old members returned and new members joined our ranks. The membership stretches across Missouri, as well as into several other states; individuals have shown support by their membership dollars if not by their actual presence. The historic Hyde House, our gallery home for 9 years, now displays many of Katherine Hyde's best paintings in the Library and lounges. We have returned the grounds, Pottery House, and windows and interiors back to the maintenance level needed for this kind of structure's well being and to endeavor to serve the patrons and public.

The usual events that artCentral has become known for, such as the kid's artCamp, winter adult classes and workshops, member show, and an exciting fund-raising project sale are all on the calendar again for this year. Additionally, a number of new artists will be showing in the Main Gallery and Member Gallery and a fun line-up is planned to hang in our new satellite gallery, The Atrium, in the local Sirloin Stockade on Central Avenue.

Our valued membership provides the strong base that is needed so badly for us to continue as a successful art presence in our community. We look to our current members, visitors, and future members we hope to welcome! More important than membership dollars is your appreciated participation, and I invite you to do so this year.

Most Sincerely,
Sally Armstrong
Director, artCentral
