Exhibiting guidelines

General Information
artCentral has two primary onsite exhibit areas at 1110 East 13th Street and an off-site venue at THE ATRIUM GALLERY in The Sirloin Stockade on Central Ave. in Carthage, Mo. Onsite shows are displayed for 3–4 weeks; the offsite venue is changed quarterly. By special arrangement, appropriate work may be displayed outdoors.

The "Main Gallery" occupies the first floor display areas. The "Members Gallery" on the second floor, may only display work by Members of artCentral. Both galleries are outfitted with track lighting.

Depending on size, the Main Gallery can require 15–25 pieces, the
Members Gallery, 10–15; and
The Sirloin Stockade, 10–12.

Eligible Work
1. All artwork placed on exhibit must be original and created solely by the exhibiting artist, preferably within the last three years. Inclusion of print reproductions requires approval of the Director.

2. No work may be exhibitited in the Main Gallery if exhibited previously in an artCentral show. However, work shown in the Member's Gallery may be exhibitied in the Main Gallery.

3. Artwork may be exhibited only once at satellite venues.

Selection Guidelines
4. To schedule an exhibition, artists (individulas or groups) will provide samples of recent artworks to the Director for consideration and approval. The Director or the artCentral Board of Directors reserve the right to refuse any work deemed inappropriate for any reason.

5. Artists with an inadequate amount of artwork to fill the exhibit space are encouraged to explore the possibility of showing with other artists, who also will be subject to these Guidelines and Agreement. Artists unable to fulfill their exhibit commitment will be rescheduled.

Installation Guidelines
6. The Director is responsible for the final selection and installation of artwork for exhibition in the Main Gallery. Artwork not included for exhibition is to be removed prior to the opening reception.

7. Artists may do their own exhibit installation in the Member's Gallery, if arranged with the Director.

8. Artists are to adhere to delivery and removal schedules. No work received after deadline will be hung; and no work will be added, exchanged, or removed from an exhibition unless approved by the Director.

9. All 2D artwork under glass must be framed fro exhibition and securely wired for hanging. Artwork with sawtooth hangers, "glass & clips" or "Uniframes" will not be hung.

10. Artwork on canvas is to be framed, unless frameless, wraparound canvases with the edges painted are used. All artwork on canvas is to be securely wired for hanging.

11. 3D artwork shall be of manageable weight and size for the staff of artCentral and will be displayed on artCentral pedestals, unless arranged otherwise with the Director.

12. Nothing may be suspended from the ceiling. Suspended art must be hung from its own stand provided by the artist.

OUTDOOR GUIDELINES
Artists are responsible for installation as coordinated with the Director. Artwork must be secured and stabilized and meet safety concerns. All applicable indoor guidelines apply to art installed outdoors.

Financial Arrangements
13. Artwork is to be for sale (Exception: The Annual Membership Show) unless approved by the Director.

14. When delivering artwork to artCentral, the artist will provide a list of titles with dates, sizes (framed), and retail prices. Artwork is to be correspondingly labeled.

15. artCentral retains a 25% commission on all artwork sold in any of its galleries or other exhibits. Payment for sales will be made to the artist within 30 days after the close of the exhibit.

16. For shows in the Main and Members galleries, artCentral provides the opeing reception, and the printing, mailing, and postage of invitations to its mailing list. artisits can receive up to 50 free invitations for their own use.

17. The artist will be charged a storage fee of $5 per day for any unsold artwork left over 30 days following the close of the exhibit. After 120 days, artwork becomes the possession of artCentral and may be disposed of at its discretion.

18. As part of this agreement, the artist authorizes artCentral to reproduce the artist's images, regardless of copyright, for publicity purposes.
