the 25th Annual Joplin PoPs

Friday, June 24, 2005, at 8 pm.

Missouri Southern State University

Please bring your own seating. In case of rain the program
will be presented in Taylor Performing Arts Center.

Pro Musica is a not-for-profit corporation that brings world
class chamber music and symphony orchestras to Joplin.
In addition, Pro Musica brings this program of light classical music each Spring for families to enjoy under the stars.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at
the gate, children 12 and under free.


This concert features the Overland Park Civic Band
under the direction of Frank Fendorf with special guest trumpet soloist Ronald Romm, founding member and
formerly of the world-famous Canadian Brass.

The 25th Anniversary Joplin PoPs is sponsored by Famous Barr and General Mills. Mr. Romm's appearance is made possible by a gift from Mari Winn Taylor as a memorial to her late husband Harold Brian Taylor.

Percussion Group Cincinnati........................................Thursday, April 14, 2005
In 1979 Percussion Group Cincinnati set out to awaken concert audiences to the dynamic aural and visual delights of a wider world of music. Since then these musicians have sparked the imaginations of audiences everywhere, using anything from amplified cactus needles, newspapers and garbage cans to the traditional sounds of drums, cymbals and bells from around the world. Symphony Warsaw Philharmonic with Olga Kern, Pianist..............Friday, November 5, 2004
The Warsaw Philharmonic returns to Joplin this time with 2001 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Olga Kern. They will present Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto #3. The Philharmonic will also perform Brahm’s Symphony #4. This concert is presented in cooperation with Curtains Up! Joplin Community Concerts. 25th Anniversary Joplin PoPs
Overland Park Civic Band and Special Guests....................Friday, June 24, 2005

An evening of beautiful music under the stars for the entire family. There will be appearances by special guest artists and personalities honoring the 25th Anniversary of the Joplin PoPs. The concert will take place on the oval at Missouri Southern State University - Joplin at 8 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the gate, children under the age of 12 will be admitted free. Please bring your own seating. (In case of rain, the concert will be presented in the Taylor Performing Arts Center.)
